Ingress' Room, Early Saturday Morning

*Ingress tosses and turns in her bed, whimpering in her sleep. She hasn't had a nightmare since she was Chosen, but she is having one now.*

No... Mummy! No...

Megwyn awakens suddenly. There is something wrong with Ingress; she can feel her distress reverberating down the link. She gets up and runs into Ingress's room.

::Wake up, little one!::

She shakes Ingress gently, trying to awaken her.

*She wakes with a start, and her arms are around Megwyn's neck in a flash*

::Megwyn! Megwyn! The Bad Men came, and they hurt Mummy. And Door was there and Tom was there and they hurt them, too.::

Megwyn sits on the bed, rocking Ingress back and forth. "Shh, it's ok. The Bad Men are never going to come again. Door and Tom are safe. Promise."

::I'm sorry, about Mummy, sweetling. But I'm here, and I love you. And Door and Tom do, too.::

*Ingress sighs and clings to Megwyn, the ugliness of the nightmares slipping away in the face of the light and love she receives from her Companion.*

::I love you, too. I don't like bad dreams. I had them all the time before you found me.::

"Do you want me to stay here, and keep you safe?"

*Ingress snuggles in closer to Megwyn, sleepy once again. She nods her head, sniffling.*

Now you're not a horse, you can stay with me all night?

"Uh-huh. I'll be right here." She lies down, holding Ingress close to her.

*Ingress falls asleep again, safe in Megwyn's arms, and no more dreams trouble her rest.*
