The huge, white tent sprawls on the lawn beside the lake. It has been transfigured there for a very special occasion. A stone walkway leads from the bar to the tent - the pavements are wide enough that ladies' dresses won't trail on the ground as they make their way to the entrance. Over the draped curtains of the entrance way is a large banner which reads "Happy 7th Birthday, Ingress".

Once inside, the honored guests will be in the midst of an enchanted ballroom. There are balloons drifting in bunches from the circular tables lining the sides of the large dance floor. Floating candlabras glow with gentle light from above. There are trees in large ornamental pots interspersed throughout sparkling with fairy lights from real fairies.

One long banquet table is positioned on along the side of the ballroom - there are treats of all description. Little finger sandwiches, chopped up fruit, cookies, cheese and crackers, and other child-friendly h'ors douerves are presented to make sure the dancers are sustained throughout the the party. There are large bowls of ice cream (kept cold with magic)and sundae fixings. Punch bowls of sherbet-flavored drinks await ladling into crystal goblets. But most impressive is the large birthday cake with blue, purple, and pink icing roses festooning it.

Ingress is busy greeting her guests in her gown - a birthday gift from Amy and Susan - but soon she'll be dancing to the music provided by the overlarge Gramophone in the corner, which is playing a wide array of dancing music from waltz standards to court music to pop hits of the 20th century.

Tom, who's pretty tired from the magical effort required to pull this off, is in the background making sure his little girl is having a perfect party, and Princess Amy is helping Ingress in her hostess duties.

Come in and enjoy the party!

Twirl.

She grins, "Oh, of course they were. I don't think they'd ever met a stubborn princess before."

"I can indeed."

"Perhaps, sir. We do trace our family very far back. It's possible," Draco admitted, secretly pleased at that comment, despite himself. After all with the few pureblood families out there, much less acceptable ones for marriage usually. At least in his branch's standards, there might have been a distant cousin or relative somewhere up there. Though it was highly unlikely. Since only Tom was the last Heir.

The drunkeness did get some eyeing. But it was a party. Certainly interesting to find that even the Founders liked to have a good time.

Draco blinked at that, "Not exactly, though you'd be surprised on the number of enemies at times."

Draco nodded, "Of course, and thank you again for the invite." He knew it was pretty much open to everyone, but still best to be polite.

"If his armor was that shiny, I'd probably ask him what sort of polishing solution he used," she says matter-of-factly. "Only, I'm sure he'd have absolutely no idea."

They are human too Draco, never forget that. Especially when you find that they do things that you'd never want to envision them doing.

"Perhaps! Perhaps." He sits back down and waves for Draco to sit as well, tapping his glass once with his wand.

"I dare say I sound a bit doused, do I not?" He taps the rim with his finger, grinning craftily.

"I am most pleased, is all. Master Tom is a fine Heir. And something called an 'Opener', which is fascinating. I plan on having him tell me as much as he can about these 'openers' for my studies. Perhaps you and I could do research together. Speaking of research, have you discussed any of our plans with your mother? I mean to speak with her about a little trip to Persia," he nearly stops, but continues with a mental check, "I mean to invite her to go with us, if she would not mind."

Telling someone that you've made a promise to their mother to 'check' plans with her first is not exactly something to say to a grown boy.

"You're quite welcome."

With that, Tom heads off to greet some more guests.

Laerke would greet Ingress and congratulate her on her birthday, maybe even hand over the gift they've brought, but she's so overwhelmed by everything.
She stands, gawking at the wealth around her, oblivious to everyone else.

He takes off his dress gloves, tucking them away. 'I do indeed. Is there cake and ice cream to be found, then?'

"I shall remember," Cora promises with a slightly startled grin, "but I'm afraid you're stuck with it for today, King Mendanbar. There does seem to be an awful lot of royalty in Milliways," she adds thoughtfully.

And then blushes. "I've never, actually, had it before. But I'd think candied cherries would go with most things."

Definitely on that part.

"Perhaps, a bit overly enthused, yes," Draco carefully said, trying to be diplomatic about it for once.

"I've helped Tom with research, so I wouldn't mind at all. I've mentioned about your tutoring in passing. She greatly approves of it."

Draco grimaced at that, and hastily replied, "We trust your judgement, and I am allowed to do as I like now. ...I'm sure she'd find the trip rather dull and uninteresting."

Salazar eyes Draco over the rim of his glass. He calculates his response.

"Forgive me Master Draco. I humoured her only out of sympathies. You and I both know fully well you are more than capable."

Draco added, "And thank you, I am. I would definitely be interested in the trip myself, Master Salazar."

"Then we should plan, I need to schedule some time for myself and Master Tom, but we should plan for the trip to be soon. Perhaps in the next month?" He pauses, "Master Tom should be able to allow for you to come at your leisure. And I extend the same courtesy to you, if you have the means, please, do not think you need find me in order to visit my study, Riana knows you, she will let you into the library and keep my family at bay."

"Next month would be fine, other than my research work with Master Tom, my schedule's very flexible."

Draco then blinked, and asked with some wonder, "I thought I would need to find you? I know for the most part the only way to access if the person from there opens the door?"

"He is an Opener, as I mentioned before."

She rather spoils the effect a second later by adding, with a child's temper, "Because I am not evil!"
