The tea party room in the House of Arch has been re-arranged. The chests of dress-up clothes are still there, but the large table is gone. In its place are comfy, overstuffed chairs, a long sofa, and several cushions and bean bags scattered about. There is a small table loaded with snacks like crisps, dips, cupcakes, candy, and soda. There's also a veggie tray and cheese and crackers for all of those over age eight.

An old model TV hooked up to VCR is set up with several video cassettes of movies such as The Aristocats, Sleeping Beauty, Shirley Temple classics, and other fun viewing choices.

Tom and Door have been busy escorting guests into the House, if they didn't already have access on their own, and the birthday girl greets them with squeeful happiness. Megwyn is already there, standing by a basket of fresh hay and apples. Even Companions need treats.

She is wearing pajamas with unicorns on them with a fluffy yellow robe on over. She is very excited and feeling very grown up. She's going to stay up all night.

"Door, would it be okay to paint her hooves, do you think?" She's brandishing the same purple polish that's on her nails.

"I should think Megwyn might know that better than I."

Door does not know much about horses.

The Underside, on the whole, has little use for them.

::It won't last,:: Megwyn sends to both of them. ::Dye never does. It won't hurt anything, though.::

Ingress giggles and kneels down to sit beside one of Megwyn's front hooves. She happily begins applying the polish. A few strokes in, she realizes just how big hooves are compared to people's fingernails.

"Hmm... I know! Polka dots will be pretty!"

Door laughs, settling down with the ribbons and Megwyn's tail.

"Do you mind if I start the braiding, Megwyn?"

She's not sure what counts as rude, really.

There's a feeling of laughter over the bond to Ingress, and one formerly-silver hoof chimes like a bell as the Companion stamps her foot on the floor.

::I don't mind, Door. Thank you.::

Ingress quickly runs out of the purple polish, so she goes to get more. She brings back some fuschia and heads for the other front hoof, carefully painting the polka dots.

::You'll be so beautiful when we're done. I'm going to put glitter on your mane, too.::

She's not stopped sending waves of joy since this evening began. Door should be able to feel her little sister's happiness shining through well enough, too.

"Glitter sounds like just the thing, Ingress."

Door's smile is similarly unfettered.

Seeing her sister so happy is a very lovely thing, indeed.
